Renault Clio for rent in Malaga

Dragon Cars offers the Renault Clio for rent in Malaga and free pick up at the airport. Renault Clio is very much an object of desire. Available in three-door and five-door versions, it combines elegance, vitality and high standards of safety. With a completely new design, the Renault Clio has set new standards for the small-car market.
Rounded headlights, incorporating the turn signal in the unit with the headlight. The bonnet curved more around the edges of the lights. The tailgate incorporated a third brake light and a new script "Clio" name badge,Advanced driving technology, comprehensive safety systems and a generous specification add real substance to the style. The cabin space has record room, and exceptional roadholding with a great level of finish to the car. The Renault Clio was also awarded 5-stars in the Euro NCAP crash tests.
The interior shares a lot with the Modus with a high standard of material quality, good storage and fine attention to detail - such as the new malleable, squash-ball like form of the vent controls that stems from Renault's 'touch design' philosophy.

Renault Clio V6 Sport in Europe

The Renault Clio, a run of the mill small hatchback aimed squarely at the mass market. A reliable super mini driven by new drivers, mothers on the school run and old dears popping down to the shops. So what happens when you add an insane body kit, rip out the rear passenger seats and shove a growling 3.0 litre V6 in the back of one these sedate little motors? Well Renault decided to find out in 2001 when they did just that and unleashed the Renault Clio V6 Sport in Europe.
The Clio V6 was superficially based upon the MKII Renault Clio although in reality the two cars share few components. This was quite necessary to transform the standard Clio from a front wheel drive, front engine car typically using a 1.2 or 1.4 litre engine, to a mid engine rear wheel drive hot hatch. The major difference is of course the engine - the 3.0 litre V6 being sourced from the Laguna, Renault's large saloon model, before being heavily tuned to deliver 252bhp.

http://cdn-www.rsportscars.com/images/renault/2004-renault-clio-renault-sport-v6-24v/cliov604_w308.jpg

The most obvious difference to the untrained eye is the Clio V6's looks. You can still see the standard little Clio underneath the body kit if you squint but it's a tough job, the original styling drowning in huge bumpers, air intakes and almost ridiculously wide wheel arches. This is not a subtle car and was not designed to go unnoticed. The design ethos extends to the cars practicality - it's not. With the rear end of the car dominated by the engine, rear passenger seats are gone, the boot is gone, fuel economy is, yes, gone.

Even being as heavily modified as it was, the Clio V6 was not a class leader by any means. Unrefined and very heavy for its humble size, the Clio was little match around a track against the Japanese rivals of the time. And despite the engine, the extra weight meant that much more modest hot hatches could keep up with the Clio V6 in a straight line. Ownership was not a walk in the park either, the Clio V6 having a high price tag, low fuel economy and a high Clio insurance group. This was ultimately beside the point however. In a time of restraint and blandness in the motor industry, the Clio was a breath of fresh air. Quirky, a little bit mad and most importantly - fun.

The ‘World Series by Renault’ Clio Renault Sport

http://autoreview.belproject.com/media/1/renault-clio-rs-world-series-edition-back.jpg

The car is motivated by a 16-valve 2-liter normally aspirated engine. Capable of producing 200 horsepower and 215 Nm of torque, the engine is mated to a TL4 six-speed gearbox.
The Clio’s top speed is reached at a pretty much frightening for such a small vehicle 223 km/h.

The ‘World Series by Renault’ Clio Renault Sport will reach U.K. show rooms by September 30, 2007 and will be available in France, Spain and Italy by October 28.

The hot hatchback will also be available in France at an impressive price of €21,900.

Frankly speaking, I just can not imagine a sane person paying so much money for a Clio. Sorry, but that’s beyond my understanding.

Body kits for your Renault Clio Mk 1

http://www.autobra.co.uk/shop/images/punto_mk1.jpg

For the original MK1 Clio, the popular 1.2 litre sizes (1171cc) are found in models such as the “Oasis” and “Paris” and there is also a 1108cc size for the “Night & Day”. These Clio cars all stand at #3/20 (no info on the #/50). For the MK2 Clio the insurance rates are lower, but they do differ across models, but the Clio “Liberte” model stands clear at the low insurance group of #2/20 and #5/50. For the MK3 Clio, again the insurance groups change per models, but there is interestingly a 1461cc Clio “Authentique DCI (68)” that alike the MK2 stands at #2/50 and #5/50. For cheap car insurance for young drivers, the Renault Clio is a good contender and the looks across every such marking have certainly been impressive. It will be interesting to see how the MK4 looks that is set to arrive in 2012.

Renault clio sport Mk2 really model

http://www.ibherdesign.com/eb/renault/clio/clio-iii-front.jpg

It wasnt until the introduction of the Renault sport Clio 172 that there had been a model that would really appeal to the keen driver, and this model is beyond the budgets of most boy racers, so youll be hard pressed to find an abused Mk2 Clio. Truth is, until the 172 appeared the Mk2 Clio never really had the enthusiast appeal that was engendered by the Mk1 Clio 16v and Williams models. That has certainly changed now, although the only tired looking cars will be high-mileage, low-spec company hacks. Avoid these if at all possible.

New Clio V6 exclusive sports model

http://www.gotbroken.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/2004-renault-clio-renault-sport-v6-24v-picture-1.jpg

An exclusive sports model carrying the Renault Sport badge, Clio V6 showcases the styling of the latest-generation Clio. Blending sportiness with flowing lines, the unique design also boosts efficiency. Thanks to a host of new developments, New Clio V6 combines pleasure of use with unusually high performance, with a 0-100kph time of less than 6 seconds. New Clio V6 features a new chassis together with 18-inch wheels. Fitted with a completely new top end, the 3-litre 24- valve V6 engine delivers 255bhp at 7,150rpm and 300Nm at 4,650rpm. The six-speed gearbox benefits from specific developments, including a shorter final drive, revised internal gear ratios and shorter selector movements. Assembled at the Alpine facility in Dieppe, New Clio V6 will go on sale in Europe at the end of 2002, with enhanced levels of equipment and perceived quality.

http://www.gotbroken.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/01/2004-renault-clio-renault-sport-v6-24v-picture-4.jpg

Successfully launched in June 2001, the new-generation Clio has posted steady growth, occupying second place in the Western European B segment since August 2001, and first place in the French market since January 2002. It’s now the turn of Clio V6 – the image-building model of the range and a symbol of the passion associated with the Renault brand – to get a complete revamp.

Renault Clio III new Sport

http://www.fastestlaps.com/photos/Renault_Clio_III_Sport_491bdd139ec24.jpg

An all-new third generation Clio was unveiled in 2005. It uses a platform co-developed with Nissan (which Renault has a share in) that is shared with the Renault Modus and the current Nissan Micra. It is considerably larger and 130 kg heavier as well as more expensive than the Clio II, the result of a decision to move the Clio slightly upmarket. The outgoing Clio II will continue to be sold as a budget option until the launch of the new Renault Twingo (expected 2007). The new Clio achieved a 5-star EuroNCAP safety rating, joining the rest of Renault's family of top-rated consumer motors - with the exception of the Kangoo - which all have the maximum safety rating. Sales of the 3-door model begun throughout Europe in October 2005, with a 5-door model to follow in early 2006.

In June 2006 the sales of the third generation Clio Renault Sport started in France for the price of 23000 euros. Clio Renault Sport is equipped with a new naturally aspirated 16-valve 2 liter engine based on the earlier version used in the second generation Clio Renault Sport and a 6-speed gearbox. The engine develops 145 kW (197 hp) at 7250 rpm. The top speed is 215 km/h and 0-100 km/h takes 6.9 seconds.

Renault exhibited a Hi-Flex Clio with a 1.6 L 16-valve engine at the 2006 Paris International Agricultural Show. This vehicle, which addresses the Brazilian market, features Renault-developed flex-fuel technology, with a highly versatile engine that can run on fuel containing a blend of gasoline and ethanol in any proportion (0% to 100% of either)

the next-generation Renault Clio 2012

http://glamgirlcars.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/04/clio.jpg

Would you like to enjoy the first leaked photos of the next-generation Renault Clio 2012? I can show you one, but just one minor remark – it is not exactly a photo – it is the sketch of a future car.

However, even from this sketch it is clear that the car is very curvaceous, the headlights have an amazing arc line and they seem to wrap the top front corner of the car. The back end of the car is more refined and sleek.

The new Clio has no traces and glimpses of a classic Megane (actually, there were a lot of similarities before). Obviously, the care is not ready yet and it will have a lot of changes, but the general idea is completely clear

The Clio drives exceptionally well

http://www.ibherdesign.com/eb/renault/clio-spirit/renault-clio-bodykit.jpg

http://www.autospecifications.org/car-reviews/wp-content/uploads/renault-clio.jpg

What a great little car. Not a contender in our mind-blowing performance car shoot-out this month (TG 195), admittedly,
The car tested is a Sport Tourer, in Dynamique trim, with the 1.5 dCi diesel engine. If you need an efficient, clean, small runabout, this is it. At £14,770 (£13,220 for the Expression base model) it’s not particularly cheap, but a determination to avoid the bargain basement Koreans is probably wise in this category.

The Clio drives exceptionally well, with light, direct steering, a sporty short-throw gearshift and a supple ride. And the way it keeps its little diesel hushed and remote from the cabin is nothing short of astounding – there are BMWs and Benzes at three times the price that don’t do it so well.
review so far? It can’t fail to be. The little diesel engine will never make this car fast, but in its own way it’s the equal of the new engine in the E250 CDI and Alpina D3 in combining smooth, lag-free torque low in the rev range with a free-revving nature. Like those two units, this is one of the very best four-cylinder diesels anywhere.

Take or leave the estate body shape. It’s got 439 litres seats up compared with 288 for the standard hatch if you need the space. But both are utterly great, that’s the message.

Renault Clio Early Designs 2012

http://www.autoinfoz.com/gallery/exterior/big/ext-1308655520renault_clio_4.jpg

Renault recently announced pricing details and official specifications of the new Clio lineup but it seems like the refreshed model is already getting ready to make room for its successor, the 2012 model. Perhaps the French manufacturer didn't expect to see this but the first photos showing the 2010 Renault Clio have been leaked on the web, according to a report by autoplus.fr via carspyshots.net.

Obviously, details are nonexistent at this time, with no information regarding the engines or other technical data yet released. Furthermore, there's no spyshot yet, which means either the company managed to hide the car fairly well or what we have here are only some very early design proposals for the upcoming Clio.

The rear end of the car has been redesigned as well, with new tail lamps keeping the same stylish design line of the front side.

The new Clio, which goes on sale across Europe this year, is already boasting an important number of aesthetic improvements. For instance, the refreshed series comes with a redesigned front fascia, including restyled grille, headlights and bumper.

The range will rely on five petrol powerplants and three diesel and several transmission configurations, a five- and a six-speed manual gearbox, a Quickshift 5 transmission available for the 1.2 16v 75hp (depending on market) and dCi 85 engines plus a four-speed automatic transmission for the 1.6 16V 110 engine.

Renault Clio champion winners

The series' first winner of the inaugural race for Renault 5 TLs held in Brands Hatch was Maggie Loynd in 1974. The series, now known as the AirAsia Renault Clio Cup UK are now held as a support race to the British Touring Car Championship. The series previously supported the British leg of the World Series by Renault event.

The series' past champion winners includes Andy Priaulx, Jason Plato and Tom Onslow-Cole. Other than that, past drivers of the series that were notable outside of racing were Andrew Ridgeley of the pop group Wham! in 1985[6] and it introduced actor Rowan Atkinson to motorsport, which he raced seldom between 1984 to 1990. One of his races was documented for his one-off show, Driven Man.

The car has since re-emerged for a reunion race in 2004, which he aimed to compete in, but had to be substituted by Perry McCarthy, due to illness. Atkinson bought the car following the race and was auctioned off in a Bonhams auction in 2005

performance renault Clio Sport

http://www.date-tehnice.ro/wp-content/uploads/2011/03/Renault-Clio-1.2-16V-model-2006.jpg

Right off the bat it is quick, there is some engine lag with the power quite weak low down. In fact one would be forgiven for initially thinking you’re in a turbo, but no the 147,5kW at 7,100rpm all comes from good old fashioned uncompressed air. The acceleration isn’t too brutal but we are way up here on the highveld so the performance has been great, especially considering its price and equipment level.

The ride is quite hard and the brakes are top notch. I know because this morning a dog took offense to the aggressive black Clio Sport and charged into the street with teeth out. Slamming on the Brembo brakes resolved the potentially disastrous situation instantaneously. It was probably a German Shepherd, that would give it good reason to hate a car like this. It has the goods to make it onto car of the year lists in my opinion. Read more in the full road test coming soon in Drive.

Renault Clio III also became basis for Renault Clio Gordini 200 (limited edition) introduced in Great Britain in 2010. Gordini 200 is equipped with 2.0L engine which develops 200 bhp. However, limited edition is priced as low as usual version.

Renault Clio mechanical and electrical faults have been catalogued, including a common fault which causes the engine to unexpectedly stall; in some cases at speed whilst on the motorway. Another commonly reported fault occurs with the hazard lights turning on by themselves and unable to be switched off

A facelifted version of the Clio III went on sale in the UK on May 15, 2009. It features better quality materials used in the interior and is better equipped than the pre-facelift model.

The Clio GT has a new aggressive front end styling incorporating a black grille, extended side sills, suspension settings unique to the GT variant, and a twin tailpipe design with a lip spoiler on the rear end.

An all-new third generation Clio was unveiled at the 2005 Frankfurt Motor Show. The Clio III uses the Nissan B platform, co-developed with Nissan (which Renault has a share in), that is shared with the Renault Modus, the current Nissan Micra and the Nissan Note. It is considerably larger and 130 kg (287 lb) heavier as well as more expensive than the Clio II, and at nearly 4000 mm in length has almost outgrown the supermini class.

Sales began throughout Europe in October 2005. It was voted European Car of the Year 2006, defeating the Volkswagen Passat by 5 votes and was considered by the judges to be the car which will set the benchmark for quality, safety and style for a car in this class.

Renault introduced its newest facelift of the Clio Symbol/Thalia model at the 2008 Moscow Motor Show. The new model featured chrome-trimmed front grille and rear fascia, while powered by similar engines as the Dacia Logan range. The new Symbol/Thalia was designed for the Eastern and Central Europe, Russia, Turkey and North Africa.

The last units of the Clio II in Mexico featured the headlights used on the Nissan Platina, thus becoming the third headlight design to be used in the car. This version lasted a month (January 2010) on sale, before both Clio and Platina being replaced by the Dacia Logan and Sandero.

Second generation Clio is still marketed in France as the Clio Campus.

The unforgiving seats remind you that this car is still at the concept stage, but there are a number of features the stylists are keen to see in production. These include an extra- wide satellite navigation screen, with a joystick to control its functions, plus a Neoprene gearlever gaiter.
Still, the glass roof adds a sense of occasion, providing a clear view of the sky. And while it feels special on the inside, the car’s shape is also truly attention grabbing.

The Clio has been sold as the Renault Lutecia in Japan, as Honda owns the right to the name Clio (being one of Honda's sales networks in Japan). A four-door saloon was developed for certain markets where sedans are traditionally preferred over hatchbacks and is sold under names Renault Clio Classic, Renault Clio Symbol, Renault Symbol, Renault Clio Sedan, Renault Clio Tricorps, and Renault Thalia. It is also sold under the Nissan nameplate in some Latin American markets as the Nissan Platina with slight changes in the front of the car to make it resemble the Nissan Altima.

Look very low in the prototype front bumper and rear diffuser with two exhaust pipes. Now, the latest version of the Clio RS has a gasoline engine two-liter naturally aspirated 200 hp

Clio RS, in the future these features will change, the car will most likely have a more compact turbocharger. We know now that Renault has developed a range of new engines with a low and a turbine, which will be used in smaller models of Mercedes-Benz.

Among those turbo with a volume of 1.8 liters, which seems more appropriate for the future Clio RS. However, it is too early to provide specific data for the development of this model is only the beginning.

Renault Clio V6

You could easily imagine the thick-rimmed wheel in a production vehicle and, on the road, this working model isn’t too far removed from the final version. It uses the same 194bhp engine as the range-topping Clio, which gives it plenty of punch. Even though this is a precious prototype, you can accelerate hard all the way through the gears, and the powerplant responds with a rasping exhaust note. The flipside is that this lack of sound insulation, combined with fibreglass and carbon fibre bodywork, makes for a ride that’s anything but refined.

Still, the glass roof adds a sense of occasion, providing a clear view of the sky. And while it feels special on the inside, the car’s shape is also truly attention grabbing.

To start with at least, the production Clio load-lugger will have a traditional five-door layout. But it’s still set to bring a welcome dose of style to the oversized supermini market.

A minor trim facelift occurred after only a year of being on sale. A new "smooth" version of the Renault diamond badge (the previous "ribbed" badge was being phased out at the time) and a new front seat design were the only changes. The altered design did not constitute a new "phase". In March 1993, the Phase 2 model was launched, with small updates to the exterior and interior of the Clio. Most noticeable was the change in the front grille from two metal ribs to a single colour-coded slat grille. The bump strips were made slightly larger and rounder, and the car's trim level badge was incorporated into the bump strips. The badges on the tailgate strip were moved up onto the tailgate itself and the tailgate strip was given a carbon fibre look.

The back end is finished off with a subtle roof-mounted spoiler, and brushed aluminium body inserts surround the sporty twin tailpipes. It’s not revolutionary, but it looks clean and classy, and not unlike the Volvo C30 in profile. To compete with the Peugeot estate, Renault bosses know their contender must also be highly practical. So the Grand Tour is 30cm longer than a standard Clio – with most of that in the wheelbase.

The reward is 147 litres more boot space than in the hatch, even before the back seats are folded. Plus, the tailgate goes all the way down to the boot floor for easy loading.

The Clio Grand Tour was a surprise star of the Geneva expo earlier this year. As soon as you clap eyes on the car, it’s clear that the newly launched Peugeot 207 SW will face some stiff competition in the style stakes.

Renault is very keen to attract young, trendy buyers to its forthcoming more practical Clio, so it’s no surprise that the Grand Tour is based on a Renaultsport Clio 197. It comes with only three doors, and sits low down on gold alloy wheels.

Designers cite cult TV show Pimp My Ride as the inspiration for the front, and they have given it a low spoiler and chrome detailing around the traditional Clio grille. A brushed aluminium shroud covers the air vents behind the front wheels, while the shoulder line rises to the rear, providing the car with a sporty profile.

A facelifted version of the Clio III went on sale in the UK on May 15, 2009. It features better quality materials used in the interior and is better equipped than the pre-facelift model.
It is also introduced with a new Clio GT variant, intended to slot between the regular Clio and the Clio 197. The Clio GT has a new aggressive front end styling incorporating a black grille, extended side sills, suspension settings unique to the GT variant, and a twin tailpipe design with a lip spoiler on the rear end.

The differences between the three versions of the Williams were largely a reflection of phase changes across the Clio range, e.g. the gradual addition of enhanced safety features and cosmetic variations. Other than this, the Williams 1 and 2 had no sunroof and were painted in 449 Sports Blue. The final Williams 3 was painted in a slightly brighter shade of blue (432 Monaco Blue) and finally gained a sunroof which had long been standard on virtually all previous Clios. The original Williams was the lightest of the three, lacking the electrics necessary for the sunroof or the mirrors, and was the only one to sport a metal plaque stating the build number.

A major facelift occurred in the spring of 2001 which saw the exterior restyled (most visibly the headlights were made more angular), the interior quality improved and a 1.5 L direct injection Diesel engine added. In 2006 the Phase 2 model was facelifted with a restyled front and rear. The number plate moves from boot to bumper and a better specification on all Campus models introduced. The Clio Renault Sport's power was improved to 179 PS (132 kW) (in the UK, the designation RS 182 was adopted, once more using in reflection of DIN-measured horsepower).

The second generation of the Clio was launched in the spring of 1998 and sold for less than €8,000, with considerably more rounded and bulbous styling than its predecessor. Part of the radical concept of the new Clio were many components made of unusual materials to save in weight and repair costs
For instance, the front wings were made of plastic (Following on from criticisms of corrosion in this part of the previous model and based on technology developed for the Renault Espace) and the material of the bonnet was aluminium in some versions.

The Clio was introduced at the Paris Motor Show in June 1990 and sales in France and the rest of the continent began then, although sales in Britain did not begin until March 1991. The Clio largely replaced the Renault 5 (which continued to be built in lower volumes until 1996 in Slovenia as a budget alternative). The engine range available at launch included 1.2 L and 1.4 L E-type "Energy" petrol I4 engines (first seen in the R19) and 1.7 L and a 1.9 L diesel (both based on the F-type unit) engines. The petrol engines all received an electronic fuel injection system in place of carburettors in 1992, in order to conform to new pollutant emission regulations.
